Stars in Shadow Legacies DLC Review
Hello everybody, Shaun Meyers here to share my thoughts on the Stars in Shadow Legacies DLC by Ashdar Games and Iceberg Interactive.
Disclaimer: I received a copy of the DLC for review purposes but like all of my reviews, this has no effect on my thoughts and experiences.
Legacies is the first downloadable content to have released for Stars in Shadow. It adds a new playable race called the Tinkers, a new cyborg population type, new planetary specials, space habitats, a new minor faction called the Arda Seed, a new hyperspace anomaly, technology boosts, researchable artifacts, herald encounters and new technologies, components and encounters.
The tinkers are a race of cyborgs that worship an ancient mega machine called Dzibix. They have a bonus to production and they’re able to force other races into their machine collective. They live on a medium, arid world by the same name as their mega machine. They actually look a lot more like robots than cyborgs in design because they have no human parts like a normal cyborg would have.
The tinkers’ ships have a bonus in armor as well as self repair abilities and counter measures for missles and fighters. Much like the other races in the main game, the tinkers have their own unique ship designs and they’re all customizable in the ship building section.
The Arda Seed minor faction are a hyperspace dwelling species that provide a bit more back story as to the causes of the great war. More on this will be featured in future DLC as well.
Overall, the Legacies DLC is pretty feature packed and I feel it adds enough to the game to warrant the cheap, $4.99 price tag. The new race is pretty interesting and the many other improvements to the game make the game that much better. If you enjoyed the base game then I recommend picking up the DLC.
Thanks for taking the time to read the review folks. I’ll be back with my next review soon, until then, happy gaming folks!
