Clouds and Sheep 2

Clouds and Sheep 2 Review

Hello everybody! Shaun Meyers (Kyo Akiara) here to share my thoughts on my latest playthrough for Clouds & Sheep 2 by Handy Games and Headup Games! A review copy was provided by our friends at Headup Games but as with all of my reviews this has no effect on how I feel about the game.

At first glance you may be saying to yourself “But Shaun, Clouds & Sheep 2 is a game for kids, why are you playing it?” and you’re definitely right, the game is a family friendly game geared more towards children. BUT, here at End World Gaming we support games that are family friendly because we feel that gaming is something that can be enjoyed by everybody regardless of age.

Clouds & Sheep 2 is an indie, casual, simulation game where you take care of sheep in various environments. I know the game sounds like it’d be incredibly boring but it’s oddly addicting in a really strange way and I’m not entirely sure why haha.

For those unfamiliar with the Clouds & Sheep series, it first originated back in 2011 as a mobile game. I’ve never actually played the first game so I can’t make any comments on the original, but the sequel sought to improve upon various aspects including a better art style, more customization options and a day-night cycle.

One of my favorite parts about this game is definitely the beautifully drawn art style which is gorgeous to look at. The day-night cycle is definitely a nice touch to the game as well and night time is especially pretty. The game also has a crazy amount of customization as well. You can give your sheep hats, paint them, add environmental decorations or items and many other things.

Taking care of your sheep is the main objective so aside from feeding and sheltering them, you will also need to shear them and keep them happy. Pretty standard simulation game stuff, but there are random quests that you can do to gain experience points to level up which grants access to new environments, decorations and more.

I’ll be honest with and say that this game won’t be something everyone will enjoy. It’s a casual game geared towards children so many adults reading this review might take one look at it and say “nope” and I don’t blame you. BUT, for folks with younger children, this might be a good choice to keep them busy for a while because it’s a time waster and what kid doesn’t love throwing sheep around?
