Super Blood Hockey Review
Hello everybody, Shaun Meyers here to share my thoughts on Super Blood Hockey by Loren Lemcke. I received a copy of the game to write this review. Like all of my reviews, however, this had no effect on my thoughts of the game.
Super Blood Hockey is a sports game that pays homage to the many classic 8-bit/16-bit hockey games of yore. The game also adds a great deal of blood to the mixture as well. The bloodiness also has an effect on gameplay too. Members of your team can easily get knocked over and they’ll bleed all over the ice. This ramps up the challenge because your team can be out of commission at any time.
There are 3 game modes to choose from including Exhibition, Tournament and Challenge. Exhibition mode is a free match where you can choose your team and play. Tournament is a bracket style game mode where you take one team to the championship. Finally, Challenge mode, as the name suggests, allows you to take on challenges of varying difficulty. Completing challenges allows you to unlock bonus options.
I’m going to admit that this has been some of the most fun that I’ve had in a sports game in a little while. To quote a steam review that I read “The most swearing you will ever do in 9 minutes.” This is a very true statement. In each of the games that I played I must have dropped at least a thousand f-bombs.
The game is incredibly fun and it’s also quite challenging to boot. It takes skill, and a little luck, to be able to score frequently. There are a few things that I wish the game had like online multiplayer, and more teams. Hopefully there will be some cool post release features added to the game too.
Overall, Super Blood Hockey is a superb couch co-op hockey game. The game offers some challenging yet incredibly fun gameplay. If you’re in the market for a new hockey game I highly recommend this game.
Thanks for taking the time to read this review folks, and I’ll be back with my next one soon.
