1979 Revolution Black Friday PS4 Review

Hello everybody, Shaun Meyers here to share my thoughts on the PS4 version of 1979 Revolution Black Friday by Stage Clear Studios, INK Studios and Digerati Distribution.

Disclaimer: I received a copy of the game from Digerati Distribution for review purposes. Like all of my reviews, this had no effect on my thoughts and experiences with the game.

1979 Revolution Black Friday is an episodic adventure game that’s based on real events and people. It follows the events surrounding the 1979 Iranian revolution where the people rose up to fight their leader, the Shah. This wound up being a bloody series of events and this game does a really good job of informing you of the events that took place.

You play as a photojournalist who has returned to Iran after spending time in Germany. He is recruited to join the revolution through an old friend. The main character is eventually captured and tortured to reveal the events that took place over the course of the revolution and to rat out his friends.

The game’s story is choice based and you’re often given options on how you wish to proceed with a conversation. These choices have a large impact on how the story progresses and alters the fates of the other characters in the game.

1979 Revolution Black Friday is a bit light on gameplay elements but there are chapters where you’ll be able to walk around to take pictures to learn more about the events of the game. These pictures pop up a window where you can learn about what transpired in the real world.

Overall, 1979 Revolution Black Friday was a very insightful and well put together adventure. This revolution wasn’t something that I was very familiar with but I learned a lot by playing through this game. If you have any interest in history and would like to know more about what transpired during this revolution then I highly recommend giving it a shot.

Thanks a lot for taking the time to read my short review for 1979 Revolution Black Friday, folks. I’ll be back with my next review soon, until then, happy gaming folks!
