A Rite From The Stars PC Review

Hello everybody, Shaun Meyers here to share my thoughts on A Rite From The Stars by Risin’ Goat and Phoenix Online Publishing.

Disclaimer: I received a copy of the game from Phoenix Online Publishing for review purposes. Like all of my reviews, this had no effect on my thoughts and experiences with the game.

A Rite From The Stars is a 3D point and click adventure game that follows a young tribesman named Kirm as he takes on his rites of passage to become the chosen member of his tribe.

In order for Kirm to pass his rites of passage he must progress through 3 separate rites, each testing various aspects. The first is the rite of Wisdom which has him entering an ancient pyramid that was created by his ancestors. The rite of courage is next and this has you teaming up with Kirm’s Meerkat partner. This rite focuses on teamwork and if Kirm of his Meerkat dies, it’ll kill the other. The final rite is of Spirit and Kirm will have to travel to the spirit realm at the Rock of Destiny.

The game features a wide range of different puzzles to solve and each rite has it’s own unique ones to complete. There are multiple challenges in each rite and you must complete all of them to acquire a golden mask at the end.

I was actually quite surprised at how challenging the puzzles in this game were. They’re much more difficult than the puzzles that I usually encounter and it was both frustrating and kind of refreshing as well.

Another area that I found pretty irritating was also in the hall of wisdom, it was a humongous labyrinth. The labyrinth is huge and there’s no real visual markers to remember your position and it’s not really clear as to where to go or what to do when you reach the second part.

Even though I found the game to be pretty irritating in certain spots, it’s still a fun game and if you’re looking for a good challenge to go with your point and click adventuring, then A Rite From The Stars is a pretty great choice.

Thanks for taking the time to read my review folks! I’ll be back with my next review soon, until then, happy gaming folks!

Shaun Meyers out!
